Donna M. Beiter assumed the role as acting director at VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System January 20, 2008.  Donna has been in the role of Associate Director for Nursing and Patient Care Services and Nurse Executive since 1999 at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.

She served as Chief of the Department of Nursing for the West Los Angeles VA Medial Center immediately prior to this current assignment.

She previously held the position of Associate Chief Nurse and Associate Director of Clinical Affairs for the Acute and Tertiary Care Service Line from May 1996 until May 1998.  Ms. Beiter has been with the Department of Veterans Affairs since 1986 and with the West Los Angeles VA since 1994. 

Prior to her move to West Los Angeles, she served as Associate Chief Nurse for Operations at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, South Carolina.

Ms. Beiter gained extensive experience in nursing and health care administration as an Assistant Professor of Nursing at D’Youville College and an adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for the College of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina. 

She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and Sigma Theta Tau, the National Honor Society of Nursing.

Ms. Beiter is a native of Buffalo, New York and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at D’Youville College and her MSN degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo.
