The Bakersfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic opened in 1992 and emphasizes ambulatory care in medicine and mental health to veterans in Kern County. It has grown to 46 staff members serving approximately 4,500 patients.

A large number of veterans reside in the vicinity, particularly in the city of Bakersfield. Kern County is one of the fastest growing counties in California. Bakersfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic provides audiology, dietetics, dentistry, general medicine, laboratory, ophthalmology, pharmacy, physical therapy, psychiatry, radiology, and social work services. A transportation network operates between Bakersfield and the Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center.  Bakersfield Community Based Outpatient Clinic has an Internal Medicine residency affiliation with Kern County Medical Center.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

405 North to Interstate 5 North; I-5 North to Interstate 99
(Bakersfield); exit on California and bear right. At the first light,
Oak Street, turn left and go over the bridge. At the end of the
bridge, turn left at the light. Continue approximately 1/4 mile;
turn right on Westwind. The Clinic is on your left.
