VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System
Temporary Walkway Closure near columbarium
January 11, 2019
Dear Beverly Glenn Residents,
As construction of the new columbarium for Los Angeles National Cemetery moves forward, we are entering a phase of work that requires us to close a pedestrian walkway that affects your neighborhood.
From January 22 through March 15, 2019, we plan to close the walkway that runs parallel along the 405 connecting the south-eastern part of the Beverly Glenn neighborhood to Constitution Avenue.
We are closing the walkway for the stone facade finish work that is being applied to the eastern wall on the new columbarium. Below is a map of the closed area with a recommended detour. There will be yellow lines on the pavement to guide you to Davis Avenue from the closed-off walkway area.
We apologize for any inconveniences that this may cause you.
Many of you have asked when the columbarium will be finished. As of this writing, the columbarium should be open for services in the early third quarter of this year. When the columbarium is open, we anticipate conducting four to six services a day, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding during this construction period. Should you have any concerns, please feel free to call me at 310-268-4494, or e-mail me directly at Thomas.Ruck@va.gov.
